About me Draft
Ever since I entered the 9th grade in 2006, I immediately took an interest in the underground (mostly 90's) hip-hop scene. What intrigued me the most was when one of my good friends played an album called Donuts by the late great Michigan, Detroit producer/rapper J dilla. This type of sound caught my ear like no other and I instantly took interest in all forms of Detroit hip-hop such as MC's like Proof, Elzhi, Eminem, etc. Ever since I first heard that J dilla album, Detroit hip-hop has always meant something more than just sounds and lyrics. It has been something that sparks an interest to follow it to this day and some of the new artists that are sprouting up in the more recent days. Every new song/artist I hear from Detroit only intrigues me to download and find out more about. Detroit hip-hop lies in my heart above most of the daily music I listen to and gives me a reason to listen to hip-hop.
